In-app Community-Created NFTs by Sketchar (Feat. Pixelated Martians)

Sketchar Inc., a deep-tech company behind the Sketchar art app, is taking another step towards the decentralized creator economy by launching its first NFT collection called Martians888. This new NFT collection was created in collaboration with the Mars4 project.

What is the Martians888 NFT collection?

Martians888 is an art collection of pixelated characters created by very different artists on the Sketchar app from November-December 2021 as part of the thematic art contest launched jointly with Mars4, a virtual Mars metaverse. 

The Mars4 project is split into three interconnected parts: NFTs, MARS4 dollars, and the upcoming game.

NFTs of Mars4 are land plots on virtual Mars made with NASA data in mind. In the upcoming game, players will be able to explore their land plots, gather resources, trade, and complete various tasks to earn money from playing as it will be a play-to-earn game.

What makes this collection special?

Each artwork is unique, so is the author behind it. In total, about 2,500 Martians were drawn, of which the top 888 were converted into NFTs.

The number 888 was chosen to match the number of rare NFTs on Mars4. These rare NFTs are uncommon and exclusive pieces of land on Mars, such as craters or mountains. 

Sketchar aims to be the place where iconic art collections are born through community collaboration.

About its first drop

The presale drop will include 22 artworks worth 0.0888 ETH each and will appear on the Sketchar marketplace homepage​ on March 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. (PST, UTC/GMT-8).

How to buy an NFT Martian?

Create a crypto-wallet and replenish it with ether. Transfer your funds to the Polygon network. Click on the buy button next to the artwork.

The remaining 866 pieces from the Martians888 collection will also be put up for sale as sets in Q2 of 2022.
